Parts Department

At R.P. Motors, we value our customers and are committed to providing high-quality parts and transparent service. This policy sets out the conditions that apply to the purchase and return of parts, in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or any other applicable Australian legislation. To the extent of any inconsistency between this policy and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, the Australian Consumer Law will prevail.

1. Payments and Surcharges

• Credit Card Payments: A surcharge of 1% applies to all payments made by credit card. This surcharge covers bank processing costs and will be clearly displayed at the time of purchase.

• Alternative Payment Options: Customers who wish to avoid the surcharge may make payment via:

  • EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) – Bank details can be provided upon request. Please ensure you include your invoice number when making an EFT payment.

  • Cash – Cash payments can be arranged through our Administration or Parts Department.

• Payment Timing: All parts must be paid for in full before collection or dispatch, unless prior arrangements have been made in writing.

2. Special Order Parts

• Definition: Special order parts are items that are not regularly stocked and are ordered specifically at the customer’s request.

• Non-Refundable: These parts are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or returned once the order has been placed with our suppliers, except where required under the Australian Consumer Law (e.g., in the case of major faults or defects).

• Customer Responsibility: Please confirm all part numbers, vehicle compatibility, and details at the time of ordering, as R.P. Motors cannot accept responsibility for incorrect information provided by the customer.

3. Returns and Exchanges

• Timeframe: Returns must be lodged within 30 days from the date of purchase.

• Condition of Goods: Returned parts must be:

  • Unused, uninstalled, and in original condition

  • Returned in their original, undamaged packaging

  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (e.g., invoice or receipt)

• Assessment: All returns will be subject to inspection by R.P. Motors before acceptance.

4. Non-Returnable Items

For safety, hygiene, and quality reasons, the following parts are not eligible for return unless faulty under the ACL:

• Electrical parts and components

• Special order parts

• Items that have been fitted, used, altered, damaged, or incorrectly installed by the customer

5. Refunds, Repairs and Replacements under ACL

• Customers are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if the part:

  • Has a major failure (cannot be repaired, is unsafe, is significantly different from its description, or is not fit for its intended purpose); or

  • Fails to be of acceptable quality under the Australian Consumer Law.

• In the case of minor issues, R.P. Motors reserves the right to repair the part within a reasonable time before offering a replacement or refund.

• Refunds will be processed using the original method of payment, unless otherwise agreed.

6. Australian Consumer Law Statement

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to:

• A replacement or refund for a major failure;

• Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage caused by such a failure; and

• To have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
